In Stanley Kubrick's science fiction masterpiece there are several scenes showing the rotating corridor that creates a type of centrifugal force gravity effect.
Hamster's Wheel 2001 is a remodelled version of the well known pet exerciser that's been built to resemble the famous corridor featured in the film.
One side of the corridor is completely open to allow free entery and exit - imagine a hollow torus with one side removed. Otherwise it resembles the revolving corridor in the film, complete with tiny flickering computer monitors, sleeping pods, overhead ducting, cables etc.
Hamster can now happily bound along like astronaut Frank Poole in the famous 2001 scene every exercise time.

"I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that..."-- RayfordSteele, Jul 25 2023 Hamster wheels should be much bigger and include obstacles and points of interest, so the hamster can run at his natural pace without getting bored.-- Voice, Jul 25 2023 //One side of the corridor is completely open// Enter through the hub & climb down a ladder, shirley?-- neutrinos_shadow, Jul 25 2023 Hamsters don't like to feel trapped so I didn't present that option.-- xenzag, Jul 25 2023 Ah! Big windows perhaps? (I forget if there were any in the movie set or not...)-- neutrinos_shadow, Jul 25 2023 //imagine a hollow torus with one side removed//
