Because the air conditioning in my building absolutely sucks, what about a keyboard with a small space heater attached to keep my fingers warm as I type? It could be an elongated device that sits above the function keys and maybe clips onto the back of the keyboard somehow.

Bundle up... Try a pair of fingerless gloves. They'll keep your hands warm, yet still allow the mobility and precision of finger movement to the respectful keys.

Yea, there's gloves now with some kid of tip on the fingers, so you can type or use touchscreens. Or you can just sit your space heater on your desk, hehe, make sure you turn it off when you leave... But I kinda like the idea here, you could also do cool air (if you really type THAT much...)

I was going to suggest a laptop with a deflector at the vents to steer torwards your hands, or use the computer fan ducted thru a flexible hose. Still isn't going to compete with a decent ceramic heater, but would help if heaters aren't allowed. PS If you get a heater, plug it directly in the wall, NOT a power strip.

as a former rock'n'roll keyboardist, this is a must-have that hasn't been brought to market yet; venues can range from below freezing to "120 in the shade"; cold hands can't play and hot hands sweat (which slips around).

My solution was the aforementioned fingerless gloves, but a device that blew hot air outwards from the gaps between the keys to both warm and/or dry, would have been more useful and elegant.

I gave my bun to the original half baker. I like the idea though.

The idea of reusing computer exhaust is a good one as well.. but in the end I care less about saving energy then having flexible warm fingers.
