All the javelin contestants form a circle in the centre of the arena, each holding a javelin loaded with 6 chunks of meat alternating between 5 golden onion rings. A sizzle kit which ignites when thrown is fitted to the tip of each javelin and each kebab cooks to perfection as the javelins curve through the air to land before the hungry spectators.

The national anthems join together in a huge cacophony as the athletes' final effort serves the audience with a tasty reminder of the Olympic Games 2012.
