Invasive species are a growing environmental threat worldwide. Recent examples (where I live) include the Snakehead Fish, and the Flying Fish. My government is trying to poison the Snakehead out of existence with limited success while killing everything else in the process. The Flying fish is now abundant in waterways too large to poison. My solution – culinary. These fish have not been eaten here historically, but that’s only because they haven’t been here until recently. They are delicacies elsewhere. Snakehead is a delicacy in China and Steamed Flying Fish with Coo-Coo (a food) is the national dish of Barbados.
I’m sending out a team of biologists and fishermen to cull these fish populations. The catches will be distributed fresh to my restaurants where they will be prepared in accordance with the whimsical desires and discerning palettes of any nationality.
In time, the successful culling will be recognized, in demand, and out of necessity - government funded. Next… There are many other items that belong on my menu. The invasive plant salad, and breads – coming right up Sir / Ma’am…

I propose Crown-of-Thorns Starfish soup.
