It's an enlongated soft rubber torus with face shapes molded into it.

You could also do the reverse, push the face into the mouth of the face behind it, then that face into the one behind it and so on.

The only video I've seen that looks like what you describe was seen on imgur under gif glitches where the face seemed to recursively fold back on itself.
