Infini-tie is a desktop printer that will print you out a different tie every time you want one. Instead of a paper feed, you load it up with precut out blank ties that come in cartridges.
You can chose "Pantone" mode for a basic solid colour, or "random image mix" which accesses an on-line photo library like Getty.
Set it up the night before and your freshly printed tie will be waiting to greet you first thing in the morning.-- xenzag, Jun 15 2007 + I think this is nice, but are they *paper* ties?-- xandram, Jun 15 2007 Only the finest, pressed fabric will do.-- xenzag, Jun 15 2007 Nothing like a mobius bow-tie, then?-- RayfordSteele, Jun 15 2007 Ideally it would sync with Outlook or some other diary program and print out your day's appointments on the tie.-- hippo, Jun 15 2007 I'd vote for this if it was a CNC tie weaver that created a new custom silk tie on demand. Printed ties are crap.-- nuclear hobo, Jun 15 2007 A bun from me.. there should also be a way to erase the pattern from the tie so as you can re-use em. Save money space and so forth..-- DrWotsit, Jun 16 2007 //The Goblin Tiesmade// I think Rumpelstiltskin should have been glad to have lent his name to this product.
You might remember, he also sang a little song which might be of conversational interest to some half-bakers and home-brewers:
"To-day do I bake, to-morrow I brew, The day after that the queen's child comes in; And oh! I am glad that nobody knew That the name I am called is Rumpelstiltskin!"[1]-- jurist, Jun 06 2010 //Set it up the night before//That's disappointing; I was thinking of using it for an emergency replacement tie if my regular one got stained part-way through a working day.
//"Pantone" mode for a basic solid colour// That alone is a good idea. I assumed it was baked, but a little casual Googling suggests not.-- mouseposture, Jun 06 2010 This is a creative and insightful idea for sustainable clothing. However, the at-home printing technology currently available would hardly constitute the quality of an image you would want on a tie.-- JB007, Jun 06 2010 <heavy Wolverhampton accent> Infinitie? Oi don't see what's sow funny about that. <\hWa>-- MaxwellBuchanan, Jun 06 2010 No need to be scarfastic.-- xenzag, Jun 06 2010 random, halfbakery
