This is similar to a previously baked device (see link), however my idea works without the use of an outside mechanism or filter. Simply install heater coils directly into the procelain during the molding of the tub. Equip the tub with the necessary electronic thermostat and voila... a tub full of water that never cools off! Simply have the coils warm to a comfortable 85 - 100 degrees and enjoy a bath until you become too pruney to remain in the water. The controls could be installed in a place where they are safely beyond the reach of the water to insure no shorting out or electrocution hazzard. A dial controls the the temperature.-- Apologetic_Cynic, Feb 25 2004 Previously Baked Tub Warmer http://www.halfbake.../idea/Bath-reheater [Apologetic_Cynic, Oct 04 2004] Like a really big "Crock Pot".-- half, Feb 25 2004 I had not thought of it that way, but yes, like a big crock pot. Not as hot though. We aren't trying to make soup!-- Apologetic_Cynic, Feb 25 2004 I love it[+]. I would love it better if it could be used to make soup. The dial should go up to eleven.-- 1st2know, Feb 25 2004 In order to keep the water comfortable, you're going to have to make the porcelain uncomfortably hot.-- Worldgineer, Feb 25 2004 100 degC will take the skin off your body.-- suctionpad, Feb 25 2004 [World] is right. Better to circulate the water through a heater.-- AO, Feb 25 2004 I don't get it ... you guys have never heard of a hot tub? 102-103 degrees F is nice! Thermostatically controlled, digital display of temp, some even have surround sound and remote controls!
I just turn mine down to 93F overnight, and it heats up at about 4 deg F / hour. Bubbles if you want them, but I usually just soak.
Fiberglass tub is covered with thick foam pad and a floating "bubblewrap" material to heep heating cost down when not in use.
Not only baked, but boiled!
Anyone remember Flanders & Swann "In the Bath?"-- csea, Feb 25 2004 why am I thinking boiling lobster here?-- theircompetitor, Feb 26 2004 /www.mtiwhirlpools.com/
