A cross-platform social app exclusively for Halfbakers, designed to work on Android, iPhone, Blackberry, and Symbian smartphones. Microsoft's 'Windows Phone 7' can suck it. WebOS isn't included because HP just announced they're shutting down mobile operations and so it's likely to go down the drain very shortly. If this changes, they can join the club.
This does not replace or modify the Halfbakery itself in any way, shape or form. What it does is allow willing Halfbakers to create a user profile with contact information and collaborate on projects online through an interface similar to both Facebook and Google Docs. I guess if anything, it most resembles Google Wave but with a vastly more user-friendly and less confusing interface.
Sign in requires a Halfbakery account that has been active for a minimum of 6 months. Users can post aspiring Halfbakery submissions they aren't quite comfortable posting on the HB directly (or even ideas they have no intention of ever posting on the HB, perhaps because they plan on really Baking them) on their wall, similar to Facebook posts, and they can be edited by other Halfbakers in real-time similar to Google Docs.
Users can be reached by posting annotations on their wall, or by clicking their username to take you directly to a 'compose email' page with their address already in the 'to' field. If you want, you can also post your phone number on your profile, and set your filters to allow only starred Halfbakers (these are Halfbakers whose profiles that you have added a star to) to actually edit your ideas, so that unstarred Halfbakers can merely read and annotate.
Once (or if) you feel the idea has reached full maturity, you can then click the "submit" button, which opens a link to the official Halfbakery submission page and automatically fills in the proper categories and pastes the title/description/body of the idea into the proper fields.
Can also be used, just as effectively, for non-HB related social banter between Halfbakers, so you don't have to worry about non-HBers pestering you or making stupid uneducated comments about about the inside jokes ('Elf, Shirley, Halfbaked, Bone, Bun, etc.) we share.-- 21 Quest, Aug 20 2011random, halfbakery
