The ratio of actuated to unactuated follicles would be of course indicated by a quotient of the hair animator actuator numerator and denominator.

People paid to sell the product would be ... demonstrators. And those disrupting the throngs with protest against such artificial waving would be the ... agitators.

If you used a bunch of follicles on minimotors to loft the person, that could be a ... elevator.

But what device would you use to organize the minimotors to act in coherent patterns of standing waves? I would choose an animator oscillator, connected to a terminal with an alligator.
