Gravity-powered Pedestal Stool   (+4)  [vote for, against]
fast leaner

These stools and chairs are charmingly narrow at the bottom like a pedestal. Lateral support is instead provided by extra legs that swing out to support a leaning load. Each extra leg is shorter than the one next to it in contact with the floor and therefore is hanging ready to support the weight as it moves farther from the vertical.

The extra legs can hinge out from four or more sides. Rocking in any direction is allowed. The maximum tilt angle is determined by the number of legs on that side and when the occupant slides out of the inclined bucket seat.

Thank goodness, the stools in my pedestal are already gravity powered.
