For Everyone's Eyes Only   (+3, -4)  [vote for, against]
aka Schrödinger's top secret documents

When is a document marked "top secret" no longer a top secret?
Ans: when everyone has already seen it.

Referred to as "Three Billboards Outside Mar-a-Lago, Florida", these would display for all to see, the top secret documents that are no longer top secret documents. (you know the ones I'm talking about....the ones that are no longer top secret documents)

Really? I thought they were all declassified now as per waving them around and on public display? I'm confused now, but the billboards will sort all of that out.
-- xenzag, Jun 21 2023

Hahaha - but they're no longer secret documents so how can they still be called secret documents?
-- xenzag, Jun 21 2023

That will never happen. He's done nothing wrong.

If this were the BizarroBakery sarcasm wouldn't go right over your head.

You're talking about Hunter's laptop and Hillary's emails aren't you?
-- Voice, Jun 22 2023

No I'm not, but you are. (a solo conversation as people crowd around the billboards to read the top secrets that are no longer top secrets because himself who's name cannot be spoken here has waved them around like paper napkins and declared them non-secrets)
-- xenzag, Jun 22 2023

Amen.

Putting forth ever increasingly unworthy candidates to vote upon is not a democracy, it is ...

<long pause to determine the right word>...

... evil.

...and not to be allowed by any conscientious individual on any level.

For unworthy voters, it seems quite fair hahahaha

(The Universe speaking to people standing in line) "NEXT! What will it be, a life, or obsession with some public figure?"

"What are the advantages of both?"

"Well, a life has challenges, ups, downs, but it can lead to love, companionship, accomplishment, satisfaction, family, joy, but it's a lot of work."

"What's the other choice?"

"You can obsess about some public figure till you die. You get a little dopamine rush every time you rant about how much you hate them. That path's a lot less work I guess."

"Hmmm, choices choices, which to pick?"

"Hey, I don't have all day, tell you what, pick the obsession and I'll throw in a cat."

"Done!"

[-]misunderstanding of the law. It is an offense to publish the classified information. Just because someone else has already done it before, does not stop it being an offense if you do it.
-- pocmloc, Jun 22 2023

So anyone discussing the Pentagon papers needs to be arrested!
-- Voice, Jun 23 2023

what's ir

fluoridated? not fluorinated? (grammarly didn't unerline either, just the "not")
-- pashute, Jun 23 2023

//It is an offense to publish the classified information.// Ah, but himself who’s name cannot be spoken on the HB claims to have declassified these documents by “thinking about them”. So how can they remain a secret when they are no longer a secret? Hence Schrödinger’s Billboards.

Why not both?..

I guess spending every waking hour of every day thinking about one singular person, event, object or body part could be CALLED a life.

"What do you want to do with your life?"

"I'm going to stare at a donut."

Not how I'd want to spend my short time on Earth but hey, it's not my life, it's theirs. Enjoy lookin' at that donut I guess.

[doc] don't people become leaders of cults with that kind of genius insight into how to live a better life? Call it Taonuts or something and you're sorted.

Sure, and that's fine. If somebody says they do navel gazing for 16 hours a day to achieve enlightenment, my question to them is: "Do you need me to do anything?" If they say no, I'm all for it. It's just when they call me a heretic for not buying into it that I have a problem.

I've also come to the realization that we're driven by wanting to find comfort. If you're an intelligent person and you come to the conclusion that institutions that promise comfort and happiness are just wanting dominion over you, that's not super comforting. The way to quash these uncomfortable feelings it to buy into their line that everything would be great if it wasn't for the enemies of the group, "those guys". "Those guys" also serve as a scapegoat when the promised paradise on Earth turns into a disaster, as well as distraction to keep your eyes off the group's true intentions. The simple, binary "us vs them" dictum is as powerful as it easy to remember.

These institutions, political parties, religions, cults, whatever, use keeping us separated, hating each other and distracted as a tool of control, and the battle cry is usually "You're either with us or against us!". People who vow fealty to some group don't believe you when you tell them that you don't want to belong to ANY group. They'll assign one to you because the group dynamic is the center of everything in their eyes. You can even agree with 90% of what they say, but that's not enough. Without 100% unquestioning, allegiant obedience to the hive-mind you're "One of them!".

I'd propose that we try to look at individual problems and solve them one by one rather than subscribing to some group that promises all the answers, to be perfect all the time and eventual paradise on Earth once the heretics are rounded up and done away with. Maybe if there was a group I agreed with 100% of the time I'd join, just haven't found it yet.

But then again, I'm not looking.

Anyway, that's just what I think. One simple man's opinion for whatever it's worth.

There is. You're in it. No one else is.

And I’d add, not taking membership applications at this time. This group is closed.
