I have never been bungee jumping but the thought of flying has always amazed me. The vertical wind tunnel seems really cool, simulating free-falling but what about actual flying?
Create a horizontal wind tunnel that includes a tether hooked up to a suit. This suit has wings. Simply, strap the person in there and start up the big fan. Make the tunnel out of the thick plastic meant for inflatable large toys like those bouncers, so that risk of injury is minimized.
Another, more complex and dangerous idea is to create a powered suit. It would not use batteries, but would use a power cord that would also be a tether. It would allow a user to fly, or try, with powered wings.

If you did 45 degree air then the flying suit could be minimized and air velocities lowered. Ideally you want to match the angle with the glide angle of the suit, though I guess you could do that with the angle of the tether.-- MisterQED, Oct 19 2008 I jus' flew in from Demoines, and boy are my arms tired. <buddimdeesch>-- 4whom, Oct 19 2008 alternatively baked as "para-sailing" which doesn't require so big a motor.-- FlyingToaster, Oct 19 2008 //A teathered suit //A suit with teats?
