It's a crisp and clear Saturday morning in the spring time - your first day off in six weeks! Now is your chance to get out of the house and as far away from work as possible. You call your friends, you pack up some beer in an ice chest, grab your fishing gear, and head out to a fishing pond in hopes of clearing your mind, having a good time, and maybe catching a little something. Two beers and 40 minutues later, you begin to feel a tug on your fishing line. You stand up and prepare to wrestle this leviathian - what could it be?
"Alright, fish, talk to me," you demand after you've pulled the creature out of the water. "What do you want to know," asks the fish. "Got any tickets on you," you ask. "Nope," replies the fish, "but I've got a really good joke for you!" You and friends gather round as the fish begins to tell its joke. About five minutes later, after a few hearty laughs and exchanging some jokes, you toss the fish back into the water and cast your reel again. Maybe you'll get lucky this time and catch a fish with a prize, a ticket, or some tokens?
At the end of the day, you go home with 3 new jokes, 2 new stories, a new watch, and $25 cash - not a bad way to spend the day!
---- I enjoy the idea of fishing, just not the idea of hurting the fish, cleaning them, and eating them. I propose filling up a pond with robotic fish that each contain some sort of a prize, joke, or story for its captor. You could have some fish with tokens, for example, that you can swap out for prizes or some that contain lottery tickets.
Your tackle box would have special lures to attract the robo-fish and you would pay an admission fee of some sort to enter the area where the pond is. In order to subsidize the cost, you could even paint advertisments on the sides of the fish! The possibilities are endless!-- prototrance, Mar 18 2006 Cam Fishing Fly-on-the-wall_20Fishing [DrCurry, Mar 18 2006] (?) An AI for such a simple game/activity wouldn't be hard to manage at all.-- prototrance, Mar 19 2006 For some reason, robots immersed in water doesn't sound too good.
Still, awsome idea.-- notmarkflynn, Mar 20 2006 random, halfbakery
