Patents and copyrights on literature lasts only fifty years after the writters death, so your headston will be unique for fifty years only.

I was thinking that, whilst the patents would work in a qualitatively similar way, original epitaphs would have a longer copyright - say 100, 150 years. Long enough for your survivors to have finished surviving.

Now don't go ruining another one of my naff ideas with your sensible solutions, y'hear?

I'm not ruining it! I haven't even voted yet.

BTW, its good to see a newbie-baker standing up for his/her self.

Heaven help you if [scuttled] gets to inscribe your tombstone. "Here lies po, who livd a gud lif and alweys tride her beste. gave meny croisents and nay too meny a fishe."
-- po, May 07 2002

Ta, sctld. Btw, it *was* tongue in cheek.. although you did do in my tonal language pretty conclusively ;op

And efficiently!

<warm glow of acceptance>

Well, after the admonition to contain myself, I felt that a rejoinder was in order :)

My old housemate scared me, too..

I can dig it. Nice one, yamahito.

Something about having a little copywright circle on your tombstone is just a little weird to me.

I feel a round of poetic epitaph invention coming up...

'Here lies Christa McAuliffe. And over there. And over there...'

// Not yet, please. I haven't even written the epitaph! //

That'll do nicely. Scribe it.

'The End. To be continued...'

'Back in 5...'

I wonder if a certain musical performer might grab the rights to "Here lies the artist formerly known as living".
Or an actor/director "That's a wrap".

And his last words were...

Not yet, please. I haven't even written the epitaph!
