EZ Tree   (+3, -1)  [vote for, against]
A hooked-needle, cloth Christmas tree with benefits for you and the environment

1. Remove the frame from the box, and extend the telescopic trunk and folding, hexagon base to the desired size.

2. Drape the triangular-shaped, light and dark green-splotched cloth on the frame with the hooked needles outward. Tuck any excess underneath.

3. Clamp on Xmas lighting, and then proceed to throw on the 20 enclosed, loop-covered decorations.

4. Feel free to apply the 30 sticky loop pads to other decorations to press them into service. A few squirts of our pine scent mist will make the illusion complete.

At the end of the season, just roll up the cloth with decorations and next year’s preparations will be even easier.

Velcro would be nice
-- Trodden, Dec 13 2002

Good grief. Why don't you just get your kids to draw a tree on a large sheet of paper? Ugh.

comes with a 1lb pack of green coloured sewing needles to throw over the floor. pick up with a magnet on 12th night.

Hold on, where's the clock?

Truly though I don't like this idea. Most decorations look much better hanging than stuck on. It also sounds like it would be pretty bad aesthetically speaking, no real depth to the decoration and lights.

I know, it's quick and ugly. Don't take it too seriously.

waugs: No, but I've got to keep them down to once a week, or many would think that it's getting old. Got a humdinger for Monday.

bliss: But, this is velcro, at least the male half, or do you mean like sprayed on a real tree?

I think one of the nice things about christmas trees is the time and co-operation it takes to get one looking good. Time spent co-operating with the family is good for the soul, if not for the blood pressure.

Well... I guess I could put it outside and use it as a sundial.

Bugger. I drafted and posted am idea for a velcro christmas tree and concomitant nerf bauble set designed in the same manner as the velcro catch games from your summer holidays, except the tree is the catch paddle and the ball baubles. Therefore, kids can decorate and redecorate the tree until tuckered out and father can, as his children sleep, vent his Christmas shopping frustrations with a series of festive fastballs. And then i saw this. Bugger.
