Stand up comedians do a lot of walking around the stage, but when they want to get a drink they need to go all the way back to their glass from wherever it is they left it. I propose a microphone, which is hollow, and has a hole down through the middle of the head into the glass underneath. The electronics of the microphone will be stored either around, or at the bottom of the glass, and will not affect the sound quality.-- fridge duck, Jan 12 2005 Hollow microphone http://www.holophone.com/products.htmlThe best microphone to accompany HDTV video camera in a Natural setting. [mensmaximus, Jan 12 2005] Or for the dipsomaniac motivational speaker in your life.-- calum, Jan 12 2005 [+] nice idea, fridge duck. Welcome to the HalfBakery.-- contracts, Jan 12 2005 Kinda of misses the point of that glass of water. Often its an excuse just to walk over there, to add a beat, change the tempo, etc.-- ldischler, Jan 12 2005 ooh add a straw. that would be fun!!-- napoleonstots, Jan 12 2005 Kariokiest would probably love this as well. (And no, I don't know how to spell kariokiest, I just took a guess.)-- blissmiss, Jan 12 2005 Baked. There is a hollow microphone already, infact it's the best microphone. See link and welcome.-- mensmaximus, Jan 12 2005 Eeeh - water, vodka, s'all good.-- Letsbuildafort, Jan 13 2005 baked in Mad Magazine several decades ago, in which one issue had a parody of George Carlin (if that could indeed be called a parody) where, onstage, he had a mic with a tube in it that delivered alcohol to him unbeknownst to the audience (or so he thought). Punchline?-- xrayTed, Jan 13 2005 Swish a glass of water around next to your ear. Now imagine that amplified through a PA system. Even so, it's still too good an idea to bone.-- wagster, Jan 13 2005 random, halfbakery
