Like in a Disney cartoon when the elves, fairies etc dance and little sparkles or stars stream out of their fingertips only with water.
At one point the drops of water could appear to reverse direction and fly into the ballerina's fingers as a highly focused and directed strobe light syncs to the flow to give the reverse drop effect. Re your link Xan, is it possible that olden timey folks had a sense of humor?-- doctorremulac3, Apr 25 2022 Like Len Lye's water whirler, but more human-ish..? See linky. Disclaimer: I did some very early, very conceptual work for the mechanism design as part of an engineering paper (as did the rest of the class). Not sure if any of my (or anybody else's) ideas were incorporated.-- neutrinos_shadow, Apr 25 2022 hah and yes there was a bun from me.-- xandram, Apr 25 2022 Whoa! Cool link Neutrino, we really need more interesting fountains.
