Custom "mailbox is full" message   (+6)  [vote for, against]
Seriously, why is this not a thing?

Every voicemail service I've encountered, from every carrier (in the US at least), seems to have this same inexplicably annoying feature where, if the voicemail inbox is full, it simply plays an automated generic message SAYING the inbox is full, and then hangs up.

We should have the option to create two custom greetings, one for normal operation, but then another for when the inbox is full. Something along the line of "Thank you for calling Mr Taxi, our voicemail inbox appears to be full. If you need to schedule a trip, feel free to text this number or email us at xxx.xxx.com." My thinking is primarily for business lines, but it needn't be limited to that.

For a personal email: "Yeah, I know it's full. I will not be listening to any of what's on there, and will not be replying to any specific inquiries. If I'm dead you will hear about it from someone, sometime. If not I may run into you. If not, be well."

Physical storage is so cheap nowadays, how can a mailbox sensibly fill up?

I understand it on an old tape voicemail (I thought myself so cool and hi-tech back when I had an answerphone with two cassettes, an endless loop for the outgoing message and a normal cassette for incoming)
