Combination dehumidifier/icemaker   (-2)  [vote for, against]
Never get yelled at again for not filling up the ice tray

A dehumidifier where the water extracted from the air is collected and frozen in icecube trays. This keeps the water from being wasted and guarantees that you always have a ready supply of ice cubes (except in extra dry weather, of course).

Not a dehumidifier _or_ an icemaker, but I was reminded of this as well. [jutta, Jul 24 2001]

I searched and didn't find anything, so if he did, he either deleted it or did it without using the words dehumidifier or icemaker.

Even though I knew I shouldn't, I once drank the water from my dehumidifier. It tasted really bad. I'm not bragging or anything - I'm just saying that it tasted really bad.

In that case, how about dehumidifier/toilet bowl or something else where you're not consuming the water.

I'd [still] like to know if there's a miniature dehumidifier small enough to plug in the unused recepticle in a 1/2 bath sized humid room, like a deodorizing plug-in. I don't care where the condensed water goes, but down the sink would be nice.

I have a portable dehumidifier which has a footprint about A4-size, and is about three feet high, but most of that is the condensate reservoir. Take the guts out and I reckon it would be about a nine inch cube.

Today, when no one was looking, I stole a drink from the dehumidifier in my office. There isn't any word to say how bad it was. Now I'm thinking: was my home dehumidifier water all that bad? I'll check it again and let you know.

If anyone actually *knows* where to buy a dehumidifier, please tell me....in the past week, I've been to WalMart, KMart, Lowe's, Sears, etc. and there are none to be had! (The tack in my tack room that isn't used daily is turning green...)

The guy at WalMart apologized and said "We only sell them during the summer"

When is that? Six months from now in Australia perhaps??????

cheeselikesubstance, I am eagerly awaiting the results of the taste test.
