The SEARCH function should return category names, as well as idea names and annotations.
For example, lets say I have an idea for a dog collar that tracks your dog. I don't know offhand where the dog categories are. Is there one in products:...? or culture:...? or public:... ? Maybe more than one of those?
So usually, I search for the text "dog collar", and luckily, someone has usually posted a similar idea, so I just piggyback off whatever category he was using.
But it would be better if SEARCH did it for me. Thank you.-- phundug, Dec 17 2003 All categories http://www.halfbake...:t=All_20Categories [krelnik, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004] The idea is even mentioned in this idea's text - Dog_20BalletToo weird... [normzone, Mar 06 2015] i think this'd help. +-- jonthegeologist, Dec 17 2003 that would be quite handy, I normally search for a keyword I think might share the category of the idea I want to post, but this'd be much easier. (+)-- neilp, Dec 17 2003 Click the link I added, then hit Ctrl-F in your browser window. Voila.
(Answer to your example: "home : pet : dog").-- krelnik, Dec 17 2003 krelnik: I don't think that's what s/he's asking for...-- DrCurry, Dec 17 2003 That does come close, though. (thanks!)-- phundug, Dec 17 2003 Wow... Talk about serendipity - this was brought to you by a press of the [random] button right after I annoed on the link.-- normzone, Mar 06 2015 random, halfbakery
