Carbonated Aspirin Drink   (+3, -4)  [vote for, against]
the effervescence in normal aspirin is not enough

For those of you unlucky enough to be prone to throat infection, you will know the temporary joys of gargling aspirin. It is very good at targeting intense throat pain, and helps cleans up all the mucus that sticks around your mouth and throat, but with limited success due to its lack of effervescence.

Carbonated Aspirin Drink is pre-dissolved aspirin in heavily carbonated water. It is intended for in the morning, and after meals, as it clears away throat gunk using pure bubble power, while providing some relief from the pain. It should be sold in single dose cans and purchased only when needed, for maximum fizz.

Dissolve your aspirin in carbonated coffee (which I'm *sure* I saw on here somewhere, but can't find now), and you've killed two birds. [angel, Oct 03 2001, last modified Oct 21 2004]

[jutta], after I got over the initial shock of the title, I resolved to try it some day. Sounds interesting.

it strikes me that maybe you could just dissolve a crushed aspirin tablet in seltzer water.. or am i being too simplistic?

btw, i had never heard of this for sore throats. considering the cold going around a.t.m. at school here, my gratefulness in your direction...
