Sound like a chanting mass

Where I live (Elbonia) we have to keep our protests very small, or the police arest us for conducting an unapproved gathering. This makes large protests less than impressive.

How about a loud-hailer that electronically makes the voice sound like a thousand people chanting in unison. Especially if speakers can be concealed about the body (we have laws against that too.)

I figure it could be done with a processor that calculates a mix of delay, and pitch change.

It would also be good for lonely Seahawks fans. (bait)

Obviously, these Elbonians are on vacation in another country because they appear to be dry. [jurist, Oct 05 2004]

There's a device called ADT (audio dual tracker) which was used to simulate the multi-tracking of a voice. (The British rock band Renaissance used it a lot, both in the studio and live.)

<aside>Everyone knows that Elbonia is the Land of Mud and Flood, meaning that residents are usually up to their chests in muddy water. Just where did you expect protestors to conceal speakers around their bodies that would be both hidden from view and dry? Personally, I figure the whole works has to fit into one of their Water Buffalo miter/fezzes.<aside>

Vocal flocking. Hm.

Flocking? Another pizza, hoverboard, light sabre theme? What gives?

Flocking behaviour applied (loosely) to audio to create crowd sounds from a single input

[bristolz] is right on target. If you've ever been within earshot of a natural flocking spot for, say, Canadian Geese on on one of their flyways, the cacophany that they put up would be the perfect sound to make your protest impressive. The noise carries for miles.
