A bungee bike is what you get if you cross a doorway baby bouncer with a dandy-horse (early bicycle without pedals). It looks like a girl’s bike but without the saddle and pedals. Between the center of the handlebars and a post above the rear wheel are extended two short bungee cords joined to a comfy seat.
Thus, one can transport oneself easily, quickly and safely by bouncing, pushing away from the pavement and coasting before foot contact again, with something akin to the grace of a kangaroo. Downhill coasting is accomplished in a laid-back posture with the feet on the frame and necessary use of the hand brakes. Climbing steep hills can be done in the saddle at a walk.
