Botticelli's Birth of a Prawn   (+7, -4)  [vote for, against]
heavenly crisps

Botticelli's Birth of a Prawn is based on the famous painting Birth of Venus, except instead of Venus rising from a clam shell, there is a cooked prawn rising from a potato crisp.

This is because Botticelli's Birth of a Prawn is in fact a luxury new type of crisp. Instead of coming in a cheap plastic bag, these crisps are packaged in a protective box, with each carefully sculpted crisp and prawn being assigned to an individual compartment, appropriately festooned with angelic cherubs.

Most appropriate present for a certain royal wedding. (not that They will ever thank me)

Botticelli's Birth of Venus http://3.bp.blogspo...tticelli_venus1.jpg
like this, only with a prawn rising from a crisp [xenzag, Apr 29 2011]

We require firm assurances that this product will be produced by barely paid and badly treated child labour working excessively long hours in appaling conditions, otherwise we will remov e our croissant.

"Birth of a Pawn" might be more enlightening for a Royal family...

[8th of 7] They will be hand made by starving artists under my direction, their legs individually fashioned into a swirling imitation of Venus's flowing blond locks of hair.

From the picture, Venus was clearly an Essex girl. Any other young lady would have covered both tits. And what's with the guy trying to blow her hair away?
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Apr 29 2011

The hair's what she'd covered her other tit with. He's doing you a favor, mate.
-- baconbrain, Apr 29 2011

You could say it's almost prawn-a-graphic.
-- pocmloc, Apr 29 2011

No, I couldn't. But you could.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Apr 29 2011

And indeed, did.

What's that de-facto graphic for tumblweed … ?

I should have known better.... my next idea will be for a new type of gear-box oil....mutter, mutter, mutter... philistines
-- xenzag, Apr 29 2011

What did the Renaissance do to you?
-- daseva, Apr 30 2011

What, you mean apart from the wine, the roads, the aqueducts, the stable currency, the postal service, the architecture…?

Tell us more about this new gearbox.
-- 8th of 7, Apr 30 2011

Seconded. Enquiring minds want to know what sort of gearbox oil would come from the mind that gave us Cowboy Wishbone, Snail Koans, and Enter The Room Full of Dead Chairs.

//Enter The Room Full of Dead Chairs// I'm not even going to look up that one up...some things man was not meant to know.

Coward … we looked, and it's amusing rather than sinister.

Well, admittedly, if it was late at night and you were alone, it could be pretty spooky.

+ I was hoping it would be a rock opera by some heady band. Good, despite my letdown.
