Bog Clog Dislodger   (+2)  [vote for, against]

Sometimes, the convenience, er, the loo, becomes, ah, er, Blocked. Not totally blocked; partially blocked. That is to say, Something is visible In There and won't Go Away. There aren't many non-contact means of fixing this.

The Bog Clog Dislodger is just a bag with a closeable neck. It's approximately spherical, and a little larger than the diameter of the soil pipe. Just fill one of these with water, drop into the bowl, and flush. It will lodge against the offending obstruction and bring the full force of the flowing water to bear on it.

And if it doesn't shift it? To avoid making the problem worse, the Dislodger is water-soluble. After just ten minutes, it will dissolve and disappear.

If the full force of the flowing water isn't enough to clear the original obstruction, how will adding another obstruction help? Also, how do you flush the little pouch of air down if the toilet won't flush in the first place?

When the loo is hydraulically blocked, a plunger will work. This idea is for those times when something is stuck in the U-trap, and won't flush away - the water just flows past.

Ah, I see now. I still don't think it will work, but thank you nonetheless for clarifying the idea.

To be neutrally buoyant, you would want to fill it with water?

If you compare the diameter of the typical domestic U-bend with that of the typical domestic cat, a solution will present itself.

pocmloc, yes. Good point. Updated.

That rarely works without arterial damage...
