The blind light: I can't see you

I recall an idea some time ago involving lights that can only be seen from certain angles and distances.

Trucks have large blind spots and people who have not driven them are often unaware of this, making collisions more likely. While I have nothing against collisions they tend to ruin the paint jobs of trucks, costing thousands per crash to iron out the dents and clean the goo from around the axles.

This idea is to measure the blind spots of trucks and hang upon said trucks lights that can only be seen inside the blind spots, reading "I can see you just fine" or something.

//You mean like the signs I’ve seen on the backs of some big rigs that say “If you can’t see my mirrors, I can’t see YOU!”//

No, I don't mean that.

I envision a display showing the words "I can see you just fine" repeated over an area, but only if you're within the blind spot.

My favorite large truck bumper sticker reads; [If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you!]

My second favorite is;
[< Passing side]
[Sui cide >]
It's a North American thing... probably the opposite bumper sticker exists in other places.

My third favorite I can't reproduce here...
...aanyway most small vehicle/large truck accidents happen because most people don't realise how far a truck has to swing left in order to turn right without destroying infrastructure, (or vice versa), and get sandwiched thinking to zip around.

Is there a stat on those? That should be a thing. It should be part of your learners exam.

Big trucks will kill you 101.

Hey! I passed that one!

But if you are within the blind spot, and then you look up, and you see a sign saying "I can see you just fine", isn't that misleading? Couldn't you then sue the driver, truck owner, sign manufacturer and sign fitter for meelions? I suggest the sign read "I can't see you".

Since Voice has already restated that's what he wants in the comments, I think the intention is to falsely reassure people who are in the danger zone.
This being the case, perhaps the idea could be moved to public:evil ?

Do-able and has genuine merit. The technology already exists to aid pilots landing at airports. The Visual Slope Indicators display different colours if you're coming in at the wrong angle. [link]

//falsely reassure people who are in the danger zone// In that case make it quite an interesting sign but slightly too small to read the punchline. As the driver nudges their speeding vehicle closer to the blind spot of the speeding truck, shrink the display proportionally so it is still just a bit too small to read.

awww, You guys mix me up so much that I don’t know if this is a good idea or if it’s not a good idea! This is like driving a big truck around the halfbakery! I’m dodging flying croissants and fish bones in the gutters…
