BlackBoard Note-Book   (0)  [vote for, against]
notebook shaped like the black board, short and long.

I hate classes dealing with numbers, accounting and finance. And I have a god reason to hate them. Academias are cruel, they first write down the numbers stack style, we follow and copy their every chalk stroke. Once they are done with one complete length they then start drawing arrows horizontal to the numbers explaining what they mean. Students can't follow them any more because the notebook page is already overloaded horizontally. So we draw a curved arrow, to the side, down the side and across the bottom of the page and make the note. Passé. Why cant there just be a black board style notebook which is shaped just like the board, long horizontally and short. Now we can follow horizontal notes much better.

virtualize a whiteboard http://www.mimio.com

That would work not only for math, but any type of science courses as weel, because those Professors do exactly the same thing.

Use a small slate blackboard and chalk.

I'm voting for a notebook with horizontal rule on one side of the paper and vertical rule on the other,

I think there's good promise in devices like the Mimio, though now, many lectures are recorded as webcasts.

I'm giving this a bun, but I think a number of European countries solved this a while ago, by using square-ruled or graph paper, for most notes. Thus allowing the paper to be turned through 90° and still have line guides.

We have a Mimio in our office for various technical scribblings. I agree with [theirc], they work very well. With a little more application know how and a few cues from the teacher/lecturer (e.g. Save this as...) the notes could be much more presentable and memorable.

Have you seen my handwriting?

Do what we do at work to record what is on the whiteboard: photograph it with a digital camera.

Same problem [silverstormer].
