Yet another product of sleep deprivation, Baby's First Papoose® would be an elastic and nylon web with straps around the waist and over the shoulders to help distribute the weight of the unborn baby.
I'm going back to bed now.-- phoenix, Jul 27 2001 belly-bra http://www.bellybra.comWell I never. [st3f, Jul 27 2001, last modified Oct 05 2004] I don't have any parenting skills (only uncling skills) but this sounds absolutely brilliant. Kind of a "belly-bra".
(quickly checks web to see if www.bellybra.com exists and is rather surprised to find that it does)(see link)
Oh yeah... and congratulations.-- st3f, Jul 27 2001 LMAO. Well, I don't think I'd call it consumer advice, but it is baked appearently.
I'm beginning to wonder if [st3f] and [PeterSealy] aren't one and the same...
And thanks for the new catagory [jutta].-- phoenix, Jul 27 2001 I'll prove I'm not [PeterSealy] by saying the following, "I'm not convinced that this is baked."
When you've recovered from that shock (and in the case of [phoenix], had a quick nap), have another look at the belly-bra. I don't think it looks that supporting.
I looks like it would change the shape of your 'lump' but as far a changing the weight balance I don't think it's there. I stand ready and willing to be contradicted by those with more parental experience than me (ie any), but do go and have another look (and make their webmaster wonder why they're getting so many hits today.)-- st3f, Jul 27 2001 My wife is in the end part of her 2nd pregnancy. This one is a little different because she is having twins, but I have asked around and I know many many 'multiparas' and they all say that the belly does get noticeably larger progressively. Don't know about ligaments getting torn, but my wife's pelvic bones are separating a little faster then normal and are causing her pain. She called the doc's office and he said that it is fairly common in pregnancy and more common in multiple (more then one baby) and second, third, etc. pregnancies. One thing the doctor suggested to keep the pain down is to get a belly bra type thing and use it daily.-- barnzenen, Jul 31 2001 random, halfbakery
