Millions of no-car mothers have no choice but to push baby/ies and shopping up hills and/or over long distances.

A foot-lever would control it.
Or adapt the drive-units from battery-powered cars for children.-- rayfo, Oct 02 2000 Priorpark's link as a link. http://www.bikeshop.uk.com/electric.htm [StarChaser, Mar 23 2002, last modified Oct 21 2004] lilstevied http://www.itselect...ike%20train_JPG.jpg [lilstevied, Aug 24 2011] It would need an ignition key tied to a cord that goes around mom's wrist, in case of run away stroller, the cord pulls the key out and stroller stops ala jet ski.-- raisin, Oct 02 2000 Electric power for fairly light transport IS severely underutilized.-- thumbwax, Oct 02 2000 Forward speed would be say 5kph and downhill/runaway speed would be the same by feedback. The cord wouLd give confidence though. Good thinking.-- rayfo, Oct 02 2000 Fer gawd's sake stop laughing. This is serious. All jokesters are hereby sentenced to pushing three kids 3,2, and 1 plus a load of groceries up a kilometer of rising, even gently rising, road.-- rayfo, Oct 24 2000 I'm with rayfo. i've got 2 under 2 and now that buggies are more often the all-terrain type i think there is lots of room for the motor, battery etc. Have a look at the link to see the quality of motor available on electric bikes. <Link moved to correct place. --Star>-- priorpark, Jan 19 2001 I'm with rayfo. i've got 2 under 2 and now that buggies are more often the all-terrain type i think there is lots of room for the motor, battery etc. Have a look at the link to see the quality of motor available on electric bikes. <Link moved to correct place. --Star>-- priorpark, Jan 19 2001 Here is an electric assisted rig that can take 3 kids over long distances and up hills.
