Babbling Brook boat   (+6, -1)  [vote for, against]
an inflatable raft on wheels

I live near a babbling brook. When full, it flows swiftly downhill toward a small lake. I have dreamed of paddling down this stream in a small boat, but I never could figure how to go over the rocks and under fallen trees.

My little boat is an inflatable raft with large wheels on the sides, and smaller wheels under the center, and a retractable cockpit shield for passing under the fallen trees. hopefully the wheels will hit the rocks and lift the craft up and over, as the larger wheels are useful in shallower parts of the stream. A paddle is provided for more open waters.

The Pilot will need to wear padding on butt and knees, and probably a helmet would be good. Bon Voyage!

Creeking in a slippery plastic kayak. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creeking
This usually involves the descent of waterfalls and slides, but equally applies to any steep low volume river. [baconbrain, Nov 18 2009]

+ For the title. + For the childhood memories you have spawned. ( Where's bris when ya need her?)

Is there such a thing as a coherent brook?

// how much the wheels will help with those slick rocks //

Add some solid-fuel boosters ?

I have a plastic kayak, and I think it would get stuck, and I guess I'm going to have to use the paddle more than I originally thought.

I tried to draw it , so pitiful but I will post it.

on second thought, I think the cockpit needs to be down inside the raft, with the bubble retracting into the side of the raft. You don't get a lot of room passing under the fallen trees.

An excellent attempt my dear.
