Approach The Mythbusters Guys With A Halfbakery TV Show Proposal   (+4, -2)  [vote for, against]
These would be the guys to do it.

A Halfbakery TV show has been proposed, this is an idea to possibly, maybe, potentially get it actually made. I think the Adam and Jamie might be amenable to the idea and nobody would be more perfect to get the job done properly.

They'd take a Halfbakery idea, try to bring it to fruition. Success or failure I think it would make for entertaining TV. The success or failure evaluation being entertaining was the whole premise for their very successful TV series Mythbusters.

And hey, maybe Jutta actually gets a payday for all her hard work over the years.

Might be a way to actually get this done. Halfbakery_20TV

I watched a video recently where Adam said he and Jaime don't get along so well these days. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

Shoot!

Okay, maybe just one of them? Or possibly use this as an incentive for them to hug it out and get back to making great TV.

God I miss that show.

I was thinking maybe get the other guys. You know, Kari Tory and Grant. But Grant died, so getting Kari and Tory to agree might be tricky.... probably more doable though. Maybe Adam could rally them for a Croissant a Trois?
-- 21 Quest, Nov 18 2024

I'd love Kari and Tory or whatever combination of the old crew still willing to work together.

How do you contact all those guys?

Here's a proposal, would need to get approval from Jutta to send it. I'd handle all the busy work, or not, just hand it off. I don't need to get anything for this, be my way of paying back the HB for all the great years. Here's the proposal for the proposal:

Subject: A Proposal for a New Show: Halfbakery

Dear [Jamie, Adam, or Team Member's Name],

I hope this message finds you well! As a longtime fan of MythBusters, I’m reaching out with a proposal for a new show concept that I believe aligns perfectly with the creativity, ingenuity, and scientific exploration that made MythBusters so beloved.

The Concept: Halfbakery Inspired by the website Halfbakery.com—a quirky, community-driven platform where people share inventive, humorous, and often outlandish ideas—this new show would bring these imaginative concepts to life. Much like MythBusters, the premise would revolve around building, testing, and analyzing ideas. The twist? These ideas range from the borderline practical to the hilariously absurd.

The goal of the show would be to:

Take a selection of ideas submitted on Halfbakery.com (or sourced from viewers). Assess their feasibility and engineering requirements. Attempt to build and test them, showing what works, what doesn’t, and what could be improved. Blend humor, creativity, and science in the process, just like MythBusters did so brilliantly. Why It’s a Great Fit The format of Halfbakery would naturally draw from the strengths that made MythBusters so iconic:

Your talent for making science accessible and fun. The team’s resourcefulness and knack for problem-solving. The ability to take a wild idea and make it engaging for an audience. This concept also offers a nostalgic callback for MythBusters fans while exploring new territory by focusing on crowdsourced creativity and innovation.

Potential Episode Ideas:

"External Combustion Subwoofer": Testing a Halfbakery proposal to make a speaker using exploding fuel. "Paper Shredder That Sounds Like It's Saying "YumYumYumYumYumYumYum": Can you tune a motor / mechanism so it vaguely sounds like it's talking? "Rocket Ice Cubes": Could you make ice cubes with compressed air in them that when one end melts they launch out of the drink ? Collaborative Opportunity With the Halfbakery website’s established fanbase, there’s an opportunity for direct collaboration to feature their ideas, creating a built-in community of engaged viewers. Viewer submissions could also allow the show to explore the creativity of a global audience.

Closing Thoughts I believe this concept has the potential to recapture the spirit of MythBusters while tapping into a new wave of curiosity and innovation. It’s a show that would make science fun, accessible, and entertaining—something you’ve proven time and time again to be masters of.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea and discuss how we could make it a reality. Thank you for everything you’ve done to inspire curiosity and learning in millions of fans like me. I hope this idea excites you as much as it excites me!

Warm regards, [Jutta or whoever she grants permission to send this out.] [Their Contact Information]

I put a couple of my ideas in as examples because I grant full use of them without requiring any credit and I don't want to speak for others.

It's public domain now anyway but still, don't want to be making assumptions about other people's ideas.

//the Halfbakery website’s established fanbase// Are you talking about me again?
-- pocmloc, Nov 18 2024

You and me brother, I do love this site so.
-- doctorremulac3, Nov 18 2024

There are a few other guys I'd ask also. The "Stuff Made Here" YouTuber, for instance.
-- RayfordSteele, Nov 18 2024

Hey good point. Maybe I'm being too old school thinking TV show. Youtubers or streamers with twenty million followers would probably be the ones to ask.
-- doctorremulac3, Nov 18 2024

Well, being the halfbakery, it should be presented in a viewer that was programmed in Mindfuk amd compiled inside a Minecraft redstone world...
