Alka Soda   (+3)  [vote for, against]
Plop plop. Fizz fizz. What a refreshing libation it is.

Tablets of sodium bicarbonate infused with artificial flavorings; black cherry, ginger ale, vanilla coke.

Submerge tablets in 12 ounces of cool, fresh water and within moments you are rewarded with a tasty treat.

Travellers, campers, and military personnel will readily appreciate the compact size and reduced weight when compared to the traditional can of soda pop.

"Fizzies are instant sparkling beverages made with NutraSweet (because regular sweeteners can not be used). Simply drop the tablet into a glass of water (or milk if you are really daring)." [Klaatu, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

I'm old enough to remember Fizzies <link>. Great to pop into your mouth and let the expanding gasses make your fsce blow up.

LBaF, ?? no what?
-- po, Jan 08 2004

[klaatu]: i don't quite see how that sentance can start with the word 'great'..?:)

anything starting with Klaatu... oh sorry going to bed now...
-- po, Jan 08 2004

Off to bed sweets...
Speaking of sweets...it 'was' great to have Fizzies expanding in you mouth, Hold your lips tightly closed and see how long you could maintain that until the gasses forced you to let go. Grape was my favorite flavor. No other candy or drink could ever get that metallic/medicinal/artificial grape flavor as well...

I have this drink recipe that requires liquer and beer. Similar process ... Is it hard to find a surgeon that'll touch an fsce?
-- Letsbuildafort, Jan 08 2004

hold off the alcohol for a while, there's a dear.

don't mix grape and grain.

lbaf: you mean flaming dr. peppers??
-- babyhawk, Jan 08 2004

My "fsce" never did stay that way, despite the warnings of my mother.

Anyone remember Cremola Foam? It was powder that came in a tin - add two teaspoonfulls to water, stir, and instant soda was the result.

//Travellers, campers, and military personnel will readily appreciate the compact size //

For campers there should be a Chlorine version that desinfects the water and covers the bad tast of Chlorine. That way kids are less likely to drink contaminated water.
