Utilise an expansive enclosed area of sand and dunes.
Introduce salt water from the sea pumped from vehicles or dropped from aircraft.
By operating specially designed earth moving and construction equipment which have massive sandcastle buckets and spades/shovels attached, you can now start to construct huge sandcastles with turrets and moats and maybe even with drawbridges.
These sandcastles would tower in the distance with their steep defensive walls dominating the surrounding enclosed expanse of desert.-- skinflaps, Aug 19 2004 Artistic Sand Castles http://www.kirkrade...com/sand/index.htmlMmmmm, Sandy [dobtabulous, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004] all that trouble for your local trouble-making camel to kick it over?-- po, Aug 19 2004 Capture the camels and ride them around adding the finishing touches with giant trowels[po]-- skinflaps, Aug 19 2004 Beautiful idea. I think there have been some pretty towering (sorry) castles constructed to get into the Guinness book but the scale you propose takes it to another level. May I live in it, once you've built it?-- DocBrown, Aug 19 2004 [DocBrown] you may live in it, dusting may be a problem keeping it clean though.-- skinflaps, Aug 19 2004 I love this. If you used resin instead of water it'd be almost bullet proof.-- 2 fries shy of a happy meal, Aug 19 2004 Now there's a thought [2 fries]-- skinflaps, Aug 19 2004 The biggest sand castle attempt I ever saw was when a truck carrying sand managed to flip completely upside down, without damaging the sides.-- Ling, Aug 19 2004 Would this be technically baked? Many middle eastern cities have forts with mud/sand walls. Otherwise +-- swimr, Aug 19 2004 What a cool idea, especially with the resin! One can also embellish it with lovely shells, kelp and fishbones*gasp!* [and croissants ;)].-- Machiavelli, Aug 19 2004 random, halfbakery
