Since the December holiday norm has become a celebration of the new trinity (Jesus, Santa, online retail) the greeting cards should follow suit. Jesus, resplendent with robe and halo, emerging from the fireplace all sooty and disheveled with a bag of toys. A nativity scene with an
already obese, bearded mini Santa in the manger, Mary and Jeff Bezos looking on proudly. Mary and Joseph driving an Amazon truck pulled through the air by a donkey. Shepherds on a countryside all looking up in awe at a bright, starry Amazon smile logo.

I say we scrap ALL the tacked-on stuff, & just celebrate the Solstice.
The Solstice is independent of religions, cultures, countries, income levels, skin colours. It just IS, & we can all share that. |

There you go again, [NS], spouting logic again. At this rate we'll be all PC, clean and respectable by 2023. |

There are families in my area who go all out with the Santa shit, lights and lawn ornamentry, illuminated elves and reindeer and the laden sleigh with fake snow, etc. At least two of them send out cards from the other camp: "May the blessings of our Lord and Savior be upon you" etc. |

|
Huh? Seriously? Why don't you pick one belief and follow that. |
|
|
Maybe Santa is their lord and one of the reindeer is their saviour. You're just jumping to conclusions. |
