On the idea list, any idea that has been marked for deletion is shown in strikethru font.
This prevents unwitting bakers from clicking a neat-sounding idea only to discover that it promotes smoking while jumping out of an airplane with no parachute as a mandatory punishment for all SUV drivers.
Or make 'em green...

Would help in determining if an idea was already m-f-d'd,
saving searching through a long list of annos, or using the
filters. |
//This prevents...// There's really no cure for that. Good ideas will be crossed out for bad reasons. Besides, just because an idea isn't mfd doesn't mean it's good. |
On the off-chance that an [mfd] tag is inaccurate, this would be unfair. However, history has shown that an obvious [mfd] tag doesn't stop people from annotating an idea. |
If you annotate an [mfd]'d idea, it *does* go to the top of the "recent" list, so it's not like the crossout will banish it from everyone's memory. |
Would this count for [Curry]'s MFDs also? |

Although you might have something there [phundug]. I think you should work on it |
I think the "indicate an idea is MFD" meme is already well covered (see links). However, the real solution, if you really want to avoid them, is to filter them out using an edited recent view. |
As _sra points out, however, you're relying on the opinions of others as to what qualifies for MFD. Those "others" often include idiots who know fuck all about what qualifies. |
For such filtering, votes are probably more reliable than MFDs anyway, since an individual MFD may be a freak and the writers of bad ideas can delete MFDs, but votes represent the indestructible, ineluctable opinions of millions of bakers. |

phundug you mean that the suv thing isn't a good idea? |
besides using mfd as a filter means a troll can screw things up |
