Breakfast in bed
You can order a pizza to be delivered. Why can't you order breakfast? | |
It's Saturday morning. There's nothing in the cupboard.
Your tummy's rumbling, but you really can't abide the thought of getting dressed, going down to the shops in the rain, coming back and then spending 30 minutes in the kitchen getting burned by flying fat drops in order to
have a nice fried
breakfast.
Why can't you just order breakfast over the phone? It could be delivered in a little vacuum box which folds out to make a tray which contains all the breakfast in bed goodies we know and love: a fry-up, orange juice, strong coffee etc. There could be other varieties like continental, lo-fat, japanese, chinese, indian, tropical fruit etc.
Not fried though.

They do, at least in London. [link] |

I just sleep in the kitchen. |
I'd like my mail and newspaper on the tray, too. |
do they have a housekey to let themselves into the house so that you don't have to get out of bed? |
put a red rose on that tray. |

they come down the chimney po. ho ho po |

Ah yes, pizza *is* breakfast, but you just try getting cold, sweaty pizza in damp, greasy box delivered at 10 on a Saturday.
Perhaps this could be a real gourmet addition to the menu. |
I like the newspaper addition. Perhaps they could start the crossword off for you. |
Getting out of bed would be the only bummer with this idea. Perhaps there could be an option to post it through an open bedroom window open or something? (Using a telescopic grabber attachment, if you live on the 1st floor and above...) Credit card payment would have to be taken in advance for this option, obviously. |

Thanks for the chuckle, etherman. so practical you are. |

What's this I read? Another use for the Pizzonut? I tell you, there's no problem the Pizzonut cannot solve (link). |

Confused: any deli in NY will deliver a fry-up, orange juice, strong coffee etc. How is this not a "me too"? |
Possibly because New York City (pop ~8m) is not a sufficiently large subset of the industrialised world (pop ~900m) to qualify. |
And because it'd be a _very_ cold fry-up before it reached us over in the UK. |
